Desert Photos - Bringing the Southwest to the World

Nikon and I very much enjoyed the awards dinner, and we got to figure out who was who. Considering we usually see them each in their riding gear when we photograph them. Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you for allowing us to be there to capture your moments.

Sirens from the police cars and the blast from the fire engine, then the sweet roar of motorcycles, Bikes rolled in with shivering riders with warm hearts, looking for hot coffee and friends old and new. Thus begins the 9th annual Brotherhood toy run.

Not letting the temperature in the 30’s daunt these people full of Christmas cheer from bringing toys to the children. They ride again from Walter Gerrells, through downtown to Lake Carlsbad Park, with lots of onlookers along the way cheering them on.

For many years Santa’s helpers have gathered with leather and chrome, Harleys and Hondas, helmets and Antlers? Ummm Err anyway, The reason for the season is present in the middle of loud pipes and joyful laughter.

Walking the streets of a desert town. The sun on your face and warmth in your heart. All around you the lights twinkle and the music plays. Then you see the joy of the holidays on the faces of 9 precious little princesses. Awaiting the moment when the joy they feel for the season can be shared by all.
Little Miss Merry Contestants awaiting the light parade what a holiday sight. Soon the whole town can see not only the joy they feel but the love and generosity in their hearts. For all the decorations they have worked so hard for will light the night. With a twinkle and a collective sigh the streets are alight.
Soon the Light Parade will start and little Miss Merry Christmas Contestants lead the way. Bringing with them joy enough to fill every heart.

The day was like any other in Eddy County, Sunny and warm, not hot not cold, A perfect day in the autumn of the year. Little did the citizens of Carlsbad know that the calm sunny day would soon come crashing to an end.

People gather on the Courthouse lawn for what promised to be a nice fall festival. There was laughter and small children chasing each other on the grass. No one noticed anything wrong.

This was one of those days we wake up and the first thing that comes out of our mouths is "ROAD TRIP"! We haven't been to Dog Canyon in a while, so off we go. Granted there are a few photos on the road going to Dog Canyon, but hey that's road trip for you. Now on the way home we stopped at the Queen Store for a great lunch. If you are in the area we suggest them. So enjoy the photos, we sure enjoyed the trip.

Okay Nikon and I get a real kick out of these shows, no the horse didn't kick us. Watching the people who have spent many hours learning and teaching with their horses. They put on a great show and I think more people would really enjoy it. But for now I suppose you will just have to enjoy the photos we take. Now we are trying to get some actions shots, I suppose when you see the horses in flight that is close! Wow the last two nights were a lot of fun. The fun Run was great we have lots of photos, but I am still going through them and will get them up as soon as possible. Tuesday night was warm to say the least but we got out the convertible and tried to make it to as many parties as possible. Out of 32 I think we made 17. There is just not enough time for us to cover them all. but here are some of the photos we did take.

The firemen worked all night and most of the day to get the fireworks setup. Plus all the people that spent their time to get setup for the parade. Thank you for putting on such a great show for us all.

Friday night July 3rd Blood Red Summer visited the Shawn and Curtis show. Well 3 of them at least, someone (Ross) had to miss the event. As usual the guys were in great spirits and everyone had a lot of fun, including the winner of a call in. If you weren't listening you missed a great evening, but at least you can enjoy the photos below.
