Desert Photos - Bringing the Southwest to the World

With the many colors that nature provides us, and the brisk cool of the morning air. The desert is cooling off giving people good reason to be outside, playing a round of golf or just enjoying a walk in the park along the river. Granted we do tend to get a little carried away at this time taking more photos than normal. Wait did I actually just say that? Okay perhaps 1379 photos in one afternoon is not a stretch for us. There is just so much to be seen and so often people in their daily lives just miss what is so obvious, nature in her finest.

Ok this was a lot of fun, but it did last longer than Nikon or I had expected and we were caught without an extra battery for the DVD recorder. Even at that the video is still very long about an 1 hour and 16 minutes after some editing. However just for our main man Curtis we have a special photo of him. ok yes it is slightly modified, but his costume was lacking something. While we did not get to the saturday show, we did manage to at least get part of the sunday show. The only problem is it rained, a lot!. We got some video as well as a few photos, and I will put them here for you to enjoy.
Photos of the Event

The rainy weather is no deterrent to anyone who loves their chosen hobby. Some are more than hobbies…some are passions. That would be the category that Drag Racers fall into passionate. The day starts clear … the engines are tuned, the slicks are warm, the paint polished. The track is ready… then ….there was rain. It started as a sprinkle and turned into a downpour… but the drivers persist. Few photos were taken on this day because of the rain… but be assured the races did happen. But by 3:30 in the afternoon this photographer was done.

The Mornings are a little crisper, The days a little shorter and the nights are cooler.
It is a time for the cowboys to round up their doggies and bring them a little closer to home.
It is a time for Mother Nature to start to show us her beautiful colors. She is changing her palette from the beautiful greens of summer to the yellows and reds of fall. From the trees in the yard to the goldenrod in the fields.
The brilliant light of her summer sunrises and sunsets have turned to the softer golden tone.

Okay sorry for taking so long to get these up. I had 1155 photos to go through. Now normally I will weed out many duplicates, but in action shots often you find yourself leaving far more than normal. If you click through fast enough you can see the action. Okay I know we have video, but watching a kaleidoscope can be fun. Perhaps we enjoy photographing the races more than we admit........nah, it is the most fun one can have (edited)!

Now Nikonlady told me I should get people's feedback about changing the site again ( two changes in 6 years, how terrible ). So I suppose I should allow comments on this post just to get your thoughts. Granted I will still have to figure out what I am doing first before changing the index page to here, so don't hold your breath on a fast change over.
