It is our intention to photograph and video the place we call home. Be it the beautiful landscape, or events that keep us busy.

Relay For Life 2009

76 teams from our community came together as they walk for hope and a cure, never giving up. Raising over $80,000 to help find a cure. Over 2,400 luminaries lined the path for 2,300 registered walkers. Here are some photos of the event for you to enjoy. If you find a photo that you would like a copy of please email us the number(s) and we will email them to you free of charge. If you want more than a few please email us for our address and you can bring a blank cd or flash drive by the house and we will copy the photos to your media no charge.

Rockin The Lot 2009

Nikon and I had a lot of fun at the "Rockin The Lot 09" concert at Aaron's Rent to Own. A very worthy concert benefiting Habitat for Humanity. Rockin the crowd were "Rain", "KryoBurn", "Last Child", "Serum", and "Blood Red Summer". Now as usual Nikon got wired taking photos, 2047 to be exact, and as usual I am going through them as fast as I can. This time the photos will be downloadable. Just select the photo you would like and right click and "save as" to your computer.

Carlsbad Horsemen's Association Western Show

Nikon and I had a great time taking photos of the Carlsbad Horsemen's Association Western Show at the Sheriff's Posse Rodeo grounds Saturday. Now as usual we tend to take a lot of photos, and this was no exception. Setting high in the stands I got a bit carried away and took 1565 photos. Even after trimming them down a bit I still am left with a total for both cameras at 1876.

Our Trinity Road Trip

These are some of the other sites that we stopped to take photos of on our trip to the Tinity Site. Magdalena is one place Nikon "grew up" (hummm spent her youth).

Trinity Site - July 16th 1945

Regardless of your views, one has to admit our world changed on July 16th 1945. The first atomic device was detonated at Trinity Site at the White Sands range in New Mexico. Twice a year they open the historical site to the public and this year Nikon and I were able to go. This is a trip that one should make, and were very surprised to see how many people actually made the trip. We seen plates from so many states not to mention so many people that made the trip in buses. Here are some photos that Nikon took for you to get a taste of the site. We hope you enjoy them

Eddy County Health Fair 2009

We love to go to the health fair as there is a wealth of information available. Even though we had some problems with our main camera and did not get photos of all the booths.

. We did do a walk through with the camcorder so you get a feel for the event. Now because a number of visitors have told us too big a video file and they can view it, I cut this video down to about 10 minute segments. I hope you can see them now.

Blood Red Summer at Hastings

Now I realize I am a bit long in the tooth and country raised, but I know a good sound when I hear it. We spent Saturday afternoon with a great bunch of people. Now watching my wife run all around the setup trying to get the best pictures was entertaining, but the group really rocked the crowd. After several sets the band had a meet and great for everyone. Now we have a video clip of one of the sets they played below.

Change is a good thing

So a New Year is well under way and with that comes change.  Desert Photos has done, over the last few months, some serious soul searching so to speak.  We have decided that we are going to revamp the page.  A little pre spring cleaning if you will.

Christmas Lights 2008

Now we do try to get around to different places each Christmas to take photos of the lights. As I drive and stop, Nikon jumps in and out of the truck with her tripod and camera.

Brotherhood of the 74 8th Annual Toy Run

Another Christmas Season is here and it is a time for giving and sharing… So lets put on the Leather and fire up those Bikes. The Brotherhood of the 74 8th Annual Toy run is under way.
