First I would like to explain, we don't have the proper equipment for filming after dark. That being said we still wanted to try to photograph the Glow Run.
Second I always fix the "Red Eye" in all photos, well this time due to the nature of the run I chose to leave the "Glow (red) Eyes".
We hope you enjoy this as much as we did filming it. Photos
So often in our daily lives we are in such a hurry, we forget to take a look around. So, on a couple different weekends we decided to take a ride with our cameras to stop and take a look. Here are some of the things we observed, some may be just a bit different but this is what photographers tend to do on their time off work.
Honey, what does this setting do? Take a look

Another year has passed and once again we as a community march into the darkness, And in this march we are saying with one voice, We will not go quietly into the night...we will not vanish without a fight! We are going to live on! We are going to survive!
We will hold tight to those we love, and we will one day win this battle.
With thought of loved ones past and those walking beside us.
Love and laughter fill the air and a knowledge that everyday is a fight and we in Carlsbad NM will never surrender to the enemy.

Wow what a weekend. When it was discussed about the Carlsbad Velo Cycling Club - Cavern City Classic, I thought yeah ok how much action is this. Then we went for a "Few" shots and I had to retrain my brain. I could not focus or shoot fast enough. I was thinking 10, 15 MPH maybe no problem and then SWISH>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> they went past and my reaction was "WHAT was that?"
These people are moving at over 40 MPH. WHAT? Yeah that is what I said.
Saturday was nice to get out of town and drive to Cloudcroft for the day. Some of the "locals" even posed for us a long the way. Granted it was a little windy and the camera lens did capture dirt, inside, as well as in the photos. I did try to clean the photos but it is up to my beautiful partner to clean the cameras and lenses. Cloudcroft had their Mardi Gras and considering the wind and cool weather, they had it in the big tent downtown. We did see a lot of smiles from the people who came and went from the tent.

In the quite morning, on a dusty Southeast New Mexico highway, a parking lot sets empty. As the hour moves toward 11 am, the parking lot starts to fill. Some are alone while pulling into the lot, while others come in groups of two or more. The colors are across the spectrum, reds, yellows, orange, green, blue, black and all with Chrome. They all come with a purpose, a reason, for this is the season. The season to assist in creating smiles and squeals for the children of Carlsbad NM Christmas Morning.
For years Michael Jackson Thrilled the world with his Music, dancing, theatrical concerts, video and movies. His music inspired countless dancers, musicians, actors, and artist. His music perfect for those in love and for those whose dream was to be or create Zombies and Ghosts.
Someone somewhere decided to pay tribute to Michael is the most complementary way. Around the world once a year Michaels fun and creative side is honored. He trilled us, now we...THRILL THE WORLD.

To many times in life we feel alone in our struggles like a single candle flame in the vast darkness of the world. All of us have felt this as adults, as teenagers and unfortunately as children. But you don’t have to be alone.
Tonight on the Courthouse lawn the Carlsbad Coalition, local Churches and community members gather to pray. Pray for our protectors, pray for our citizens, pray for our children, and Pray for you.

Often times in this busy busy world we forget about others. It happens. Life gets crazy. But there is a group of guys who never forget.
Every year without fail these guys gather and purchase and deliver truck loads of food to the Community Kitchen.
No matter if it is cold, windy, hot, dry, raining, or snowing these guys pull up in their trucks and on their bikes to help out those who need it.

The sky around Carlsbad was buzzing with the sounds of planes on Saturday Sept 29. From the typical Cesena to a Dehaviland Beaver.
Over 20 planes came in to the Carlsbad Airport for the New Mexico Centennial Air Tour. The air tour was, as well part of New Mexico Aviation Appreciation Month. These pilots have traveled from Northern New Mexico and will end their travels in Dona Anna County.

We moved to Carlsbad in 2001. We came in looking for a quiet place to live, somewhere rich in history and historical areas that we could photograph, because that is what we do. Little did we know that we had found just that and it would keep us busy with history the present and the future.

Everyone wants the knowledge that when they leave their house for the day to work, or for a weekend getaway, or for a longer trip, that everything will be normal when they get home. 40-50 years ago…NO PROBLEM. Doors were left unlocked trusted neighbors took care of things while you were gone and neighborhood BBQs were a weekend event. Everyone knew everyone and the kids all played together from house to house to house.
Not really so much anymore. The world changed and now neighbors are strangers and doors have not only two and three lock but alarms and cameras.
